Athens County Unofficial Election Results
< < Back to athens-county-unofficial-election-resultsThe Athens County Engineer race between two Democrats was a blowout.
Incumbent Archie Stanley lost to challenger Jeff Maiden, who garnered nearly 83 percent of the vote.
There is no Republican in the race, so Maiden apparently will fill the position.
Democrats also fought for the nominations for two County Commissioner seats.
Charlie Adkins won the race for one of them while Chris Chmiel won the other, beating out five others candidates, including incumbent Mark Sullivan.
Athens Countians also voted on the County EMS Replacement tax levy and 67 percent voted in favor of the issue.
The levy will go to update emergency medical equipment.
