Two Killed In Accident Near Chillicothe Involving Ambulance

A dispatcher at the Chillicothe patrol post says the ambulance rear-ended a flatbed truck around 10 a.m. today.
The patient was bound to a wheelchair when the vehicle crashed into the truck carrying lumber. The rear of the truck smashed through the ambulance windshield.
The crash was just north of a hospital, where the driver of the truck was taken. Life Ambulance, a private company based in Portsmouth, confirmed the vehicle involved was part of their fleet but declined any further immediate comment.
Two people are dead after an accident near Chillicothe this morning involving an ambulance.
State Highway Patrol dispatchers say it happened around 9:45 a.m. on Hospital Road.
They say a Life Ambulance and a Carter Lumber Truck were involved in the crash.
No other details are available at this time.
