Severe Weather Advisories Issued For OH, WV
< < Back to severe-weather-advisories-issued-oh-wvJust two days after storms battered much of Ohio and West Virginia, another round of extreme weather is predicted.
Athens, Gallia, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton and Washington Counties in Ohio and Mason County in West Virginia are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m. Sunday.
Much of Southeast Ohio and West Virginia fall under a heat advisory issued for noon to 7 p.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service reports heat indices are expected between 95 and 105 degrees.
The NWS recommends avoiding prolonged exposure to heat or outdoor activities. This may prove difficult as many residents in the area are still without power following Friday's storm.
Cooling stations are set up throughout the region and the Red Cross has established a hotline to help people find shelter from the weather. The number is 614-251-1775.
