< < Back toAthens is going after an operating levy, and Trimble is setting its sights on passage of a permanent improvements levy.
The school boards of both districts voted in separate meetings Thursday night to place tax issues on the November ballot.
The Athens proposal is for 7.4 mills.
That would bring in $3.7 million dollars a year, if voters approve.
The money would be for day to day expenses.
The Trimble proposal is an additional tax, for 5 mills.
It would be a continuing tax, with expenditures limited to district improvements of a permanent nature.
