Severe Weather Forecast For SE Ohio

The watch is in effect until 10 p.m.
Counties in the watch area include Athens, Belmont, Fairfield, Hocking, Licking and Washington.

Residents in much of Southeast Ohio and parts of West Virginia and Kentucky will experience sweltering temperatures Thursday as the heat index is forecast to reach 104 degrees.
A heat advisory is in effect for the region until 8 p.m.
Temperatures are expected to reach the lower 90's, with heat indices in the triple digits.
Experts with the National Weather Service also say the area is under a moderate risk for severe thunderstorms late Thursday afternoon and into the evening.
The storms could bring heavy rain fall, gusting winds and possible hail.
