Grant, Loan Money For Southeast Ohio To Be Announced Friday
< < Back toThe Agriculture Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development will travel to three cities in southeast Ohio Friday to announce two grants and a loan.
Doug O'Brien says the funding is meant "to promote economic growth, create jobs and strengthen local communities."
The Foundation for Appalachia Ohio in Nelsonville is getting a grant "to provide technical assistance to nine Appalachian Communities."
WSOS Community Action Commission in Oak Hill is also receiving a grant "to assist 11 rural communities."
O'Brien will announce how much money those two organizations will get Friday.
He is also expected to highlight a recent loan to the Gallia County Commissioners.
The $744,000 loan will go toward the purchase of an existing building that the Gallia County Department of Job and Family Services will use.
