Republican Presidential Ticket Campaigns In Lancaster
< < Back toRepublican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan spoke to thousands of people in Lancaster about job creation and other topics Friday evening.
"The economy is not growing here at home, and that's the problem we have to focus on here," Ryan said. "You see, the economy is growing slower than it grew last year, and last year, it grew slower than the year before, and all President Obama is offering is more of the same."
For many in the crowd, it was their first political rally.
A lot of folks said they support Romney because of his values, sincerity and honesty.
A couple from Meigs County traveled to listen to the candidates in Lancaster.
Tim and Edie King own a hardware store in Middleport, but they worry the Obama administration would impose more regulations and hurt their business if the Democrat is re-elected.
On the other hand, the Kings like that the governor knows how to run a business like they do, and Romney said his ticket will help small companies in America.
"It's our plan to get this economy going with more jobs for the middle class and more take-home pay," he said, "and we're going to bring back this economy by putting in place that plan."
The pair will split up and continue campaigning in the Buckeye State over the weekend.
Ryan heads to northeast Ohio, while Romney stays in southeast Ohio for a rally Saturday at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth.
