Third Weekly Award for One Bobcat
< < Back toOhio field hockey goal keeper Brittany Walker is only in her first season as a starter for the Bobcats, but the sophomore is getting plenty of conference recognition in her first year as a starter. Walker earned her third MAC award this week as she was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Walker was ranked 10th nationally, only allowing 1.33 goals per game heading into last weekend. Walker helped the Bobcats improve to 2-1 in conference play after a win over Missouri State. The sophomore had seven saves against the Bears, who Ohio defeated 5-1 on Saturday at Pruitt Field.
Walker leads the league with three shutouts and has a .750 save percentage on the season. Her save percentage puts the young Bobcat at 20th in the nation.
Her other two awards came after a shutout against St. Joes and after she only allowed on goal in 170 minutes in two games against Ohio State and Robert Morris.
