Husted Makes Final Preparations For Election Day
< < Back to husted-makes-final-preparations-election-dayThe state's top election official says he is making final preparations for Tuesday's election.
In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Secretary of State Jon Husted said 40,000 workers will staff nearly 5,000 polling locations on Election Day.
As of last Friday, nearly 72 percent of Ohioans who requested absentee ballots had mailed them back.
"It's kind of like me in my college days," said Husted. "You know, it wasn't until the assignment was due that I actually got focused and got my paper in, so the deadlines get people acting, and you're going to see that number close, and there will be a very small number of ballots that aren't actually sent back in."
The postmark deadline for returning absentee ballots is Monday.
Ohioan can also cast their ballots in person this weekend.
