Accurso Receives MAC Academic Honor
< < Back to accurso-receives-mac-academic-honorOhio Cross Country's Juli Accurso was named Mid-American Conference Female Scholar Athlete of the Week by the league office Friday. It is the second time she has won the award.
Accurso captured her second consecutive MAC Championship individual title on Oct. 27, winning the 6-kilometer race with a time of 20:48.4, 20 seconds faster than the second-place runner. With the win, Accurso became just the fifth runner in history to win consecutive MAC Championships. She helped Ohio place third in the MAC Championships with her strong performance.
A junior from Casstown, Ohio, Accurso was named MAC Runner of the Week two times this season. She won the award on Sep. 5 after winning the 6-K Harry Groves Invitational and again on Sep. 27 after finishing third in the Toledo Bubble Buster.
