GOP Sweeps Southeast Ohio House Districts

The Republicans swept area U.S. House races, according to final unofficial numbers from the Ohio Secretary of State's office.  

In the race of US House District 2, Republican Brad Wenstrup bested Democratic challenger William Smith.

Wenstrup received 60 percent of the vote.

Incumbent Republican Pat Tiberi reclaimed his seat in District 12, claiming 60 percent of the vote to Jim Reese's 40 percent of the votes.

Republican Steve Stivers will hold on to his seat in District 15, defeating Athens City Law Director Pat Lang.

The race of the District 6 seat was the last of the night to be called, with Republican incumbent Bill Johnson claiming 53 percent of the vote to Charlie Wilson's 47 percent.
