Depth To Help Lady Tomcats

With deeper team chemistry and a few changes to the team’s roster, Trimble’s Lady Tomcats are ready to start off their season with hopes of a stronger record than last season.
Coach Dave Richards explained that he wants to work on building the program from the ground up. He wants the seniors to push the underclassman further than he could himself. This starts with one of his seniors in Demi Moore, who finished the season strong last year.
This season the team plans to continue a fast paced sideline break offense similar to last year. But unfortunately for Trimble, not everything will be the same from the previous season. Two of their strong players did not return for various reasons, including Tia Savage, an All-League player last season.
Along with this change in the lineup, two freshmen have also been incorporated into the mix of overall young players.
Emily McKee, a junior guard, said this change already has impacted the team, forcing the girls to work on improving chemistry and communication on and off the court.
Kate Spencer, another junior, reiterated the coach’s expectations of upperclassmen leading the younger players. Spencer explained how she is taking the underclassmen under her wing to provide them the best advice and be a positive example on the court.
Along with the seniors, Coach Richards also expects returning point guard, Tia Altier, to build off her strong end to last years season. This year she returns as a sophomore.
The Trimble girls start off their season on November 26 at home against Federal Hocking.
