Ohio University Police Treating Fire On Campus As An Arson Case

OUPD Captain Brian Kapple said fire investigators with the Division of the State Fire Marshal were called in Friday morning to "process the crime scene."
Firefighters got the call at 12:27 a.m. Friday morning about the fire on the Ohio University campus.
According to Captain George Clinger with the Athens Fire Department, firefighters contained the blaze within an hour.
No one was injured in the fire and the damage was limited to a wooden structure on the roof that used to house a telescope.
Athens Fire Department officials said the fire caused approximately $4,000 in total damage.
The building remained open for classes Friday.
