Four Arrested In Murder-Arson Case
< < Back toA man will be sentenced in February after agreeing to testify against four other suspects involved in a double murder and arson case in Greenup County.
In a deal with prosecutors Mitchell Royster, 24, pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree manslaughter charges.
As a result of the deal police arrested Royster's wife, Chrissie Bertram-Royster, 23; Sammy Bertram, 22; Willie Burns, 23; and Ashley Craft, 23.
Bertram-Royster, Bertram and Burns are charged with capital murder, robbery, arson and tampering with evidence.
Craft is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
The four are being charged in connection with the 2008 murder of Jeffery Long and Pamela Wills.
Royster was arrested in December of 2010 and charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of first-degree arson.
He has spent the last two years in jail before deciding to testify and receive a reduced sentence.
Royster is expected to receive 22 years in prison with credit given for the two years already served.
