Safe Schools Summit Planned In West Virginia
< < Back to safe-schools-summit-planned-west-virginiaThe U.S. attorney's office based in Charleston will host a conference on safe schools next month.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said the meeting will be held Feb. 6 at the Culture Center on the grounds of the state Capitol.
The conference will bring together educators and law enforcement officials to discuss ways to prevent and prepare for school violence.
Among the scheduled speakers are state Schools Superintendent James Phares and Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, a retired West Point psychology professor.
Following the conference, participants will develop a written set of school safety recommendations.
The public is invited to attend, but seating is limited. Registration is being accepted at www.wvsafeschools.org.
