Lawmaker Sentenced To Prison Time For Felonies
< < Back to lawmaker-sentenced-prison-time-feloniesFormer Ohio state Rep. Clayton Luckie has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to grand theft and seven other felonies.
The Dayton Democrat apologized in court in Franklin County Tuesday after agreeing to a deal that added the grand theft count and dropped 42 remaining felony charges against him.
Prosecutors said Luckie skimmed nearly $130,000 in campaign funds for personal use and failed to list campaign expenditures for six years.
He was indicted in October.
Luckie announced he wouldn't seek re-election amid the investigation but declined to resign, serving out a fourth term that ended Dec. 31.
He'll go to prison March 18 and have to pay back about $12,000 of his state salary.
