Three Bobcats Earn Preseason Recognition
< < Back to three-bobcats-earn-preseason-recognitionThree Ohio University baseball players were named to the 2013 College Sports Madness Preseason All-Mid-American Conference Baseball Team this week.
Sophomore outfielder Tyler Wells received first team honors while sophomore catcher Cody Gaertner and senior pitcher Brett Barber received second-team honors.
Wells had a .315 batting average with 63 hits, 13 doubles and five home runs as a freshman last season.
Gaertner finished second on the team with a .338 batting average last year as a freshman. He also had 24 RBIs, 25 runs scored and 51 hits, while only striking out 12 times.
Barber led the Bobcats with six saves in 2012. He also had a 2.75 ERA in 20 appearances and finished with a 3-0 record.
Ohio starts the 2013 season Feb. 16, as it travels to Nashville to play Valparaiso.
