Dublin Attorney Pleads Not Guilty In Pain Pill Case
< < Back to dublin-attorney-pleads-not-guilty-pain-pill-caseA lawyer charged with helping launder $133,000 as part of alleged illegal activity at an Ohio pain medication clinic has pleaded not guilty in federal court in Cincinnati.
Attorney Steven Hillman of suburban Columbus on Thursday also waived his right to a lawyer and told a judge he'll represent himself.
The charges against Hillman are part of a 2012 indictment against eight individuals that alleged dozens of customers a week would travel hundreds of miles to visit clinics in southern and central Ohio and pay $200 per visit for painkillers.
The indictment said prescriptions were written without meaningful physical exams and contributed to the deaths of at least two patients.
A message was left with Hillman seeking comment.
