Standings Update: Races Heating Up As Playoffs Near

Although Mother Nature did her best to throw off the local basketball schedule, some teams were still able to make moves in the standings.

The biggest development was in the boys half of the TVC-Hocking as Federal Hocking suffered an upset at the hands of the Wahama White Falcons Saturday. This allowed the Belpre Golden Eagles to pull within 1.5 games of first place and keep their slim hopes of a conference championship alive.

In the TVC-Ohio, Vinton County and Athens still remain in tight races for the boys and girls championships. The two teams are tied with records of 4-1 on the boys side while the Lady Bulldogs hold a one game lead over the Lady Vikings.

Eastern and Waterford's girls teams continue to be in a league of their own in the TVC-Hocking. The conference will most likely be decided on Jan. 28 when the two teams meet for a second time this season.
