Tonight in Athens, the Bulldogs beat the Logan Chieftains by a final score of 65-51 in a game where Athens was up for the majority of the game.

Leaders for the Bulldogs tonight were Zacchia Saltzman with 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting including a 4-of-4 mark from behind the arc. Ibi Watson added 18 points, four rebounds and three assists to the winning effort.

Guard Ryan Luehrman made his return to the court after an injury had him sidelined for the better part of a month. In his return he had two points, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks. The other sophomore guard, Joe Burrow, had a slow night from his standards. He only scored ten points as he missed all four of his three point attempts.

The Chieftains made it hard for Athens as they passed the ball well all night but at times held the ball too long and didn’t take as many shots as they could have.

Logan also started off the second quarter with a 9-3 run but ultimately gave it away as Athens then went on a 7-1 run to end the half. In the third they racked up 18 points on the Athens defense yet gave up 17 to render the scoring useless.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday against Meigs where they will look to improve their conference record to 5-1.
