The Fifth Annual Schuneman Symposium
< < Back to fifth-annual-schuneman-symposiumOn this edition of Conversations from Studio B, WOUB’s Director and General Manager Tom Hodson talks with Bob Stewart, the director of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, and Terry Eiler, the director of the School of Visual Communications at Ohio University.
Hodson, Stewart and Eiler discuss the fifth annual Schuneman Symposium on Photojournalism and New Media, happening Feb. 25 – 26 in the Baker Center on the campus of Ohio University.
This year’s symposium is focused specifically on excellence, and why it still matters, in journalism.
Tuesday, Feb. 26 will bring three prominent figures in the field of journalism to the symposium, as well as a keynote address by PBS NewsHour’s Gwen Ifill on Monday, Feb. 25.
Speaking towards this year's Schuneman Symposium, Stewart says, “There were some people on my list of hopefuls over the years, when you think about who you’d like to come to campus, and the common thread this year seemed to be that they were all excellent, award-winning, top of the line people. So that was the theme that we chose to focus on this year as opposed to other years where we focused on something more content driven as a theme.”
