The Kuhre Center for Rural Renewal is making a move to The Plains.

Over the last few years, the Rural Action organization has significantly grown and the Board of Directors have been searching for a new building.

The current building in Trimble does not allow the group a large enough conference facility to handle the meetings they host.

The new building, on Hocking Hills Drive, is currently being renovated and will be ready soon.

The building is a historic property that formerly housed two coal mining companies, including Johnson Coal Company.

If everything goes as planned, Rural Action will officially move in the week of March 18.

The Trimble Township location will continue to provide food boxes for food-insecure families in the Township.

The Rural Action buildings in New Straitsville and Mineral City will not be affected.
