Ohio Athletics announced Sunday night that it will not renew the contract of women's basketball coach Semeka Randall.

"I want to thank Semeka Randall for her hard work and dedication as the Ohio Women's Basketball head coach," Ohio Athletic Director Jim Schaus said in a statement.

Randall posted a 50-103 record in five seasons as the head coach of the Bobcats. She was 22-58 in Mid-American Conference games.

Randall's dismissal comes after a 6-23 season. The Bobcats underachieved in conference play, finishing with a 1-15 record and an 0-8 mark at home.

"After an evaluation of the overall program, I feel it is time to move the program in a different direction," Schaus said.

Schaus announced that he will conduct a national search immediately to find Randall's replacement.
