< < Back to man-accused-setting-fires-ou-dorm-pleads-not-guiltyA 19-year-old acccused of setting several fires inside an Ohio University residence hall in Feburary has pleaded not guilty to arson.
Charles Pierce, of Milan, OH appeared before Judge Michael Ward at the Athens County Court of Common Pleas Wednesday.
Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn says Pierce is accused of setting fires at OU's Tiffin Hall on February 23.
Ward released Pierce Wednesday on his own recognizance and scheduled a jury trial for June 18, 2013.
The OU Police Department originally responded to the February incident and determined that the fires were started by someone who ignited papers hanging on doors and windows. While all of the fires were considered minor, in some cases, OUPD reported carpet was burnt.
Tiffin Hall is a residence hall built in 1954 on OU's East Green.
