The annual artist gathering "Artiscape" returns for its 11-year anniversary this weekend in Dublin, Ohio.

Artiscape encompasses every aspect of art with more than 50 in-depth workshops and classes, as well as multiple shopping opportunities for art-enthusiasts.

"Artists and art lovers alike will enjoy Artiscape," said event organizer Lisa Ohmer. "Come to make art at a workshop, shop at the Marketplace or buy art at the Outsider Art Fair. It will be a fun and educational weekend."

Marianne Monaghan, owner of Barking Dog Books in Marietta, first attended Artiscape seven years ago. This will be Monaghan’s fifth year attending as a participant. She credits the event as a key source for her artistic inspiration.

"Artiscape is a wonderful way to get your creative juices flowing," she said. "The classes are inspiring, the teachers are great, and the other attendees are friendly and willing to share."

Workshop instructors include Jonathan Talbot, Magdalena Muldoon, Joe Rotella, Shari Replogle and others teaching a variety of art mediums such as mixed media, collage, bookbinding, calligraphy, encaustics, jewelry, metal and more.

There will be an Artist's Marketplace on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. with art supply vendors from across the country. On Sunday, an Outsider Art Fair takes place from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. where the public can visit with the artists and shop handmade and vintage creations in jewelry, paper, book arts, glass, metal and much more.

Marietta artist and Etsy shop owner Mary Ann Abbott is prepared for her first year vending at Artiscape. A former English professor, Abbott realized last year that she wanted to focus on her lifelong love for collecting and recycling vintage items.

"This is my first year, and I’m a little intimidated, but also very excited. I will be there as a vendor, selling the neat old 'stuff' that I find at flea markets, thrift shops and on the ground," laughed Abbott.

Abbott will be featured at the Market Place on Saturday and the Art Fair on Sunday. She will showcase her handmade jewelry, art, and vintage collectibles at the event.

"The weekend is an opportunity for adults to play with new techniques and new materials. We learn from the experts," expressed Monaghan. "Shopping, food, and fun—what more could you ask?"

The event takes place April 19-21 at the Embassy Suites Dublin, 5100 Upper Metro Place, just off I-270 at 161. Artiscape is presented by European Papers Ltd., a Columbus-based online paper arts studio specializing in bookbinding and collage materials.

The event is open to the public and most activities are free. For more information, visit www.artiscape.com or download the PDF below.
