Community Waste Disposal Day Announced

Lancaster area community members will have the chance to dispose of confidential documents and expired prescription pills.

Community Disposal and Drug Drop off day will take place in the north parking lot on the campus of Ohio University-Lancaster on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.

Community members can have their confidential documents shredded free of charge.

Items like batteries, computer equipment and cell phones can also be recycled.

Used medical equipment, paint, household chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs and televisions will not be accepted.

During the 2012 event, 113,500 pills, 8,000 pounds of computer equipment and 100 pounds of cardboard were collected and 3,927 pounds of documents were shredded.
