Ohio Women’s Golf Finishes Round One Of MAC Championships
< < Back toThe Ohio women's golf team sits in ninth place after the first round of the MAC Championships held Friday. The Bobcats shot a combined 343 and are 40 strokes off tournament leading Kent State. Ohio is also 16 strokes behind the eighth place team, Bowling Green.
Kara Brinkmann was Ohio's top golfer with a 79. This score also has her tied for 14th in the individual competition.
Kristen Helmsdoerfer and Sarah Tranelli both shot an 87 and are tied for 39th in the individuals.
Julie Lechner and Lauren McKinzie both shot a 90 and are tied for 43rd.
The course proved hard for all, as the average score was 80.11 strokes. Also the round combined for 92 double bogeys or worse.
The Bobcats return to play Saturday with their tee time set for 7:50 a.m.
