Mother Of Missing Girl Released From Custody
< < Back to mother-missing-girl-released-custodyThe mother of a missing West Virginia girl is out of jail.
U.S. Magistrate Judge James Seibert ordered Lena Lunsford's release on Monday. Seibert ruled that Lunsford isn't a flight risk and doesn't pose a danger to the public or to herself.
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Lunsford last week for violating the terms of her supervised release. Lunsford served eight months in prison for welfare fraud.
The Marshals Service said Lunsford failed to pay restitution and had contact at least five times with a convicted felon she'd been ordered to stay away from.
Lunsford's 3-year-old daughter, Aliayah, went missing in Lewis County in September 2011. She's never been found, and no one has been charged in her disappearance.
