OVST’s “Willy Wonka” to Wrap Up this Weekend
< < Back toThe Ohio Valley Summer Theater (OVST) will host the final performances of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka this weekend.
The play is directed by Ohio University School of Theater Visiting Assistant Professor Rebecca VerNooy.
Ohio Valley Summer Theater’s theatrical version is a combination of both Roald Dahl’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and of the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, with newly created material.
The well-known tale is of a famous chocolatier who stages a golden ticket contest that brings five intriguing children into his mysterious factory with surprising results.
Proceeds will continue to support the mission of OVST’s educational and collaborative academic and community programs.
“We are thankful for the support our community gives to OVST,” said OVST Managing Director Marlo Tinkham.
Reserved seats are available by calling 740-517-0503, visiting the Forum Theater box office downstairs in the Radio Television Building or via online ticketing at willywonkaovst.bpt.me. Tickets will be also be available an hour prior to each show in the Forum Theater lobby.

The Ohio Valley Summer Theater is a non-profit organization celebrating its 62nd season. OVST is a collaboration between the Southeastern Ohio community and Ohio University.
