UPDATE 4:20 PM: Power has been restored to all AEP Ohio customers affected by Friday morning’s power outages.
UPDATE 12:02 PM: Power has ben restored to the 199 AEP Ohio customers in Ross County who were without service Friday morning.
Officials say downed power lines in the county caused the outage. About 979 customers across Ohio remain without electricity.
Roughly 142 customers in Washington County are still dealing with outages as a result of downed power lines. No service restoration time has been given.
In Jackson County, a locked circuit is the reason why 837 customers are without power. Officials say power should be restored to those customers by 1 p.m. Friday.
UPDATE 11:48 AM: American Electric Power crews have restored power to approximately 100 customers who were without service Friday morning.
AEP Ohio crews are continuing to restore power to three other counties across the region.
An AEP Ohio Spokeswoman reported that 1,178 customers are still without electricity in Jackson, Ross and Washington counties in Ohio.
A locked circuit is to blame for the outage in Jackson County, where 837 customers are without electricity. Officials estimate service will be restored by 1 p.m. Friday.
