UPDATE: Campus Buildings To Re-Open Friday
< < Back to campus-buildings-re-open-fridayUPDATE 5:25 PM: University officials report that all buildings except Boyd should be back up by 8 a.m. Friday. There will be elevated temperatures until the cool down cycle is completed, however buildings should be habitable.
The Convocation Center, The Human Resources Training Center, Stocker Center and Walter Hall will be open Friday. And officials say activities and classes may resume in those buildings.
Officials are still asking for the University community to continue to conserve power throughout the day and reduce electrical consumption as warm weather and high temperatures could possibly stress American Electric Power’s grid.
Several buildings on the Athens Campus of Ohio University remain closed because of the high temperatures and broken cooling equipment. Repairs are underway but not yet completed.
Those buildings closed Thursday are Boyd Hall, the Convocation Center, Human Resources Training Center, Stocker Center and Walter Hall.
The University says Irvine and Parks Halls will be warmer than usual.
