Man Dies After Being Swept Away By Flood

Police in West Virginia say a 63-year-old man has died after being swept away by floodwaters.
Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese said Monday that the man was clearing away brush near his house along 18 Mile Creek Road in Buffalo when he was carried away. Family members had been checking on him from a distance but noticed he was gone the third time they checked.
Buffalo volunteer firefighters found the man's body only about 5 feet downstream from where he had been clearing debris.
The man's name was not immediately released.
