Sheriff”s Cruiser Rammed, Athens Woman Arrested
< < Back toAn Athens woman has been charged with felonious assault on a law enforcement officer after she rammed an Athens County Sheriff's Cruiser.
Sheriff Pat Kelly said Tracey Jack, 36, of Angel Ridge Road rammed the front end of a police cruiser being driven by Deputy Jen Atkins who had responded to a domestic dispute at an address in The Plains.
In a Facebook post Sunday evening, Kelly said Atkins attempted to stop Jack from ramming her cruiser by twice sounding the air horn on her vehicle.
Instead of stopping, Kelly said Jack accelerated and rammed Atkins' cruiser at "high speed."
Atkins arrested Jack on felonious assault and felony vandalism.
She is scheduled to appear in Athens Municiple Court Monday.
Her bond has been set at $55,000 for the combined charges.
Jack was on parole for credit card misuse.
