Trial Set For Man Accused Of Torturing Wife
< < Back to trial-set-man-accused-torturing-wifeA West Virginia man accused of torturing his wife for years is set to go on trial in October.
Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Evans set an Oct. 15 trial date for Peter Lizon, 39. He was indicted in June on three counts each of malicious wounding and domestic battery.
Police arrested Lizon in July 2012 after they said he shackled and abused his wife, Stephanie, at their farm in Leroy.
Stephanie Lizon later testified in court that her husband never beat her.
Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney Kennad Skeen recused himself from Lizon's case earlier this month because he represented Peter and Stephanie Lizon in unrelated cases.
The case has been reassigned to Mason County Prosecutor Craig Tatterson.
