Child Injured In House Fire
< < Back to child-injured-house-fireA home was destroyed and a child was reportedly burned by a fire early Saturday morning.
The Waterloo Township Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a residence fire on Ten Spot Road, where they were told a 12-year-old child had been burned, according to WVFD Chief Craig Churchheus.
The Athens County Emergency Medical Service was called to the scene, and took the child to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital. His condition was unknown as of Saturday morning.
The house was a total loss and a family dog perished from the fire, Churchheus said.
York Township VFD was called to assist at the scene.
An investigation into the fire is being conducted by the Ohio State Fire Marshals Office.
