The committee looking for the next leader of Ohio State University plans another meeting Friday as it continues its work.

The search committee is seeking a replacement for former president Gordon Gee, who retired in July a month after remarks in which he jabbed Roman Catholics and Southeastern Conference schools were made public.

The 18-person committee meeting in Columbus will receive an update on the selection of an executive search firm by trustee Jeffrey Wadsworth, chairman of the search committee and president and CEO of Battelle Memorial Institute.

The committee has not set a timeline for selecting the next president but Wadsworth has said such searches typically last about 300 days.
