CORRECTION: Anrio Adams Not Arrested, Still Parts Ways With Basketball Team
< < Back to correction-anrio-adams-not-arrested-still-parts-ways-basketball-teamCORRECTION: WOUB Sports incorrectly reported Wednesday that former Ohio guard Anrio Adams was arrested on assault charges on Aug. 20. Washington Court records show that Anrio Demetreous Adams Sr. was arrested Aug. 20 in Seattle, Wash., on assault charges and posted bail the next day.
The mistake was pointed out to WOUB Sports on Twitter by Jason Arkley of the Athens Messenger.
Arkley's earlier report that Adams is no longer with the program is accurate, however.
“After meeting with Rio, we’ve agreed that it’s in his best interests to pursue his basketball career at the junior college level,” Ohio coach Jim Christian told Arkley. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Adams, a Seattle native who transferred to Ohio this year from Kansas, was a four-star recruit out of high school, but sat on the bench last year at Kansas behind Ben McLemore. He would have been eligible to play for the Bobcats in the 2014-15 season at shooting guard.
