Man Dies At Pipeline Construction Site
< < Back to man-dies-pipeline-construction-siteAuthorities say a 31-year-old worker from northern Minnesota died after an accident at a gas pipeline construction site near Steubenville.
Investigators from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department say the man was driving a pipe loader on a hill Thursday and tried to jump from it when he thought it was sliding into a ditch. Chief Deputy John Parker says the worker's foot got caught in the vehicle's track, and the man fell backward and suffered a head injury.
Investigators say the worker was from Shevlin, Minn.
The company installing the pipeline didn't immediately respond to a message left after the accident in Island Creek Township.
