Two Injured in Meigs County Collision
< < Back to two-injured-meigs-county-collisionThe Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in Meigs County that left two people injured.
Troopers said the crash occurred on Saturday, September 7 at approximately 2:10 pm on State Route 7 in Meigs.
72-year-old Julia Stevens of Fairfax, VA was hit by 31-year-old Virginia Hunter of Reedsville. According to troopers, Stevens was crossing State Route 7 from County Road 22 when she was struck. Hunter's Ford Explorer overturned upon impact.
Hunter was taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens with minor injuries. Stevens was flown by to Charleston General Hospital in West Virginia with non-life threatening injuries.
State Route 7 was closed for approximately 30 minutes for police to investigate and to land the medical helicopter.
The crash remains under investigation.
