< < Back to suv-driver-charged-vehicular-homicide-following-accidentAn Ohio man is charged with vehicular homicide after the sport utility vehicle he was driving hit two parked cars, killing a woman and seriously injuring her husband.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation indicated the SUV's brakes may have failed before the Tuesday crash in Coshocton, about 70 miles northeast of Columbus. The sheriff's office has estimated the SUV was traveling 60 mph. It hit the cars and then overturned on a restaurant patio.
A 68-year-old Columbus woman died at the scene. Her 70-year-old husband was flown to a Columbus hospital in serious condition.
The SUV driver, Charles Miller, 29, of Coshocton, was in custody. Online court records listed no attorney for him.
He could face up to 18 months in prison if convicted of the felony charge.
