OU Hosting Grammy-Nominated Singer this Week
< < Back to ou-hosting-grammy-nominated-singer-weekOhio University will host multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles on Saturday, Oct. 19 as she wraps up her current tour of the East Coast and Midwest.
Bareilles first achieved mainstream critical praise in 2007 with her hit, “Love Song,” which reached #1 in 22 countries. Since then, the Eureka, Calif., native has gone on to sell over one million copies of her debut album, Little Voice, and earn three Grammy nominations, including Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Billboard recently hailed Bareilles’ latest release, The Blessed Unrest, as “her most ambitious album yet,” while USA Today claimed it was “Bareilles’ most mature and satisfying to date…” A new CD/DVD package titled Brave Enough: Live at the Variety Playhouse will be released on Oct. 22.
Bareilles will perform on Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Ohio University’s Templeton-Blackburn Memorial Auditorium. New York band Harper Blynn will open the show. Visit www.ohio.edu/performingarts for tickets and information.
