A lockdown at Parkersburg High School has been lifted after a former student sent threatening texts messages and a picture of a gun to current students.

The 18 year old former student turned himself into police.

According to the Wood County Sheriffs Office, the situation started with a series of text between that former student and current students. Police still don't know when, or in what context the messages were.

Police said that the student went to the School Wednesday morning, but never entered.

The name of the former student has not been released. It is unclear if charges will be filed.
