Pioneers With Chance To Bounce Back
< < Back to pioneers-chance-bounce-backThe Marietta Pioneers will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season suffered at the hands of No. 3 Wooster last Wednesday. The Pioneers will undoubtedly be playing with a little fire Wednesday when they travel to take on the Otterbein Cardinals.
The Cardinals have had a tough time this year to this point. They are currently sitting at 1-4, and have been beat by at least 20 points on three occasions this season and once by 19. No. 22 Jake Bischoff will be the player to watch for the Cardinals. Bischoff is a sophomore listed at 6-foot-3. He is averaging 15.4 points per game for the Cardinals, and will be a key in the attempt to upset Marietta.
Marietta’s sophomore guard RaNeal Ewing transferred from Otterbein to Marietta this season, so he will be back in a familiar place. Look for him to play with some fire off the bench for the Pioneers. Ewing is currently averaging 10 points per game in his sixth-man role.
The Pioneers’ loss against Wooster was only a three-point defeat. D3Hoops.com kept Marietta in its Top 25, the Pios coming in at No. 22. A win over Otterbein would be a kick-start to the Ohio Athletic Conference season for the Pioneers to keep them afloat in the national standings.
