Wanted McArthur Man Found By Police
< < Back to wanted-mcarthur-man-found-policeA McArthur man wanted by police after escaping arrest in December has been located and taken into custody.
Gary "Michael" Lemay, 29, was arrested Tuesday night alongside Jessica Barber. The two were both living in a residence on High Street in McArthur until an anonymous tip led officials to their location, according to a report from the McArthur Police Department.
Lemay had been wanted on several arrest warrants from the Vinton County Sheriff's Office in December when deputies learned he was living in Hotel McArthur, according to previous Courier reporting. He reportedly fled the building when officials got to the hotel, leading police on a brief chase.
That chase was ended due to public and officer safety concerns. Lemay had been last seen on foot moving toward East High Street.
According to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail, Lemay has been charged with assault and misdemeanor trespassing. His bond has been set to $25,000 cash/surety bond with 10 percent allowed.
Barber was also charged with assault. Her bond has yet to be posted by the regional jail.
