OU Restructuring Facilities Department
< < Back to ou-restructuring-facilities-departmentOhio University will be restructuring its facilities management department after Executive Director Mike Gebeke left the university to take another job.
During a conference call with news media on Thursday, Harry Wyatt — who had served as OU’s associate vice president for facilities management — said that Gebeke left OU on Jan. 31 to accept a new position at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Wyatt said that his own title has changed to associate vice president for architecture, design and construction. He said he will continue to help OU implement its $1 billion six-year capital improvement plan and will serve as the university’s official architect.
Wyatt added that an interim executive director will be appointed soon to replace Gebeke while a national search is conducted to find his successor.
According to Wyatt, the university’s aggressive capital improvement plan will require OU to hire six new project managers and additional support staff in the near future.
