Brothers Arrested Saturday Night In Chillicothe

A man is in custody after a standoff with police in Ross County. His brother is also facing charges.

Chillicothe Police were called to 346 East Second Street Saturday around 10 p.m. on a report of a man inside of a house with a handgun. Officers say Tyler Johnson, 27 of Chillicothe had allegedly assaulted his mother then brandished a small caliber handgun.

Johnson refused to come out of the residence, upon officer’s request. A Special Response Team and Negotiators were called in to talk Johnson out of the residence.  He eventually surrendered to officers around 11:45 p.m.

Tyler Johnson was charged with Domestic Violence and inducing panic.  Investigators say Johnson is also the subject of additional investigations currently being conducted by Police in the city and additional charges may be pending.

Following his arrest, Police say Tyler's brother, Justin Johnson, 32, of Chillicothe broke through a perimeter set up by police.  He then ran at officers with his hand in the waistband of his pants, yelling obscenities, according to the police report.

The elder Johnson began fighting with officers as they attempted to restrain him.  Officers say after a brief struggle He was arrested and charged with Obstructing Official Business and Resisting Arrest.

No additional details are being released until Monday.
