An apartment building fire in Ravenswood happened around 5 a.m. Saturday on Harpold Ave.

Ravenswood firefighters said the apartment building was badly damaged, but no one was seriously hurt.

One person was treated for some minor cuts and bruises.

"Upon our arrival, it was coming out the windows and through the roof. It drifted into the other apartments. The apartments are in a 'U' shape. It may be just an accidental fire. There was no foul play or suspicion of arson or anything in there. We're just fortunate everybody was out OK and nobody got hurt," said Chief Craig Blackhurst of Ravenswood Fire.

Fire officials say four units are a total loss, and they all had people living there.

Chief Blackhurst has no word on what caused the fire.

Emergency crews from Silverton, Cottageville and Ripley also responded.
