Trimble’s School Levy Passes After 3 Tries
< < Back to trimbles-school-levy-passes-after-3-triesAfter three consecutive fails, Trimble Local School District has finally passed their levy in the May 6 primary election.
The five mil, five year levy was approved in Trimble Twp. by a 411 to 376 vote. Athens County also approved the levy.
The levy will generate about $193,000 annually and the money will be used for major improvement to the Trimble Elementary School's leaking roof.
Trimble Local School District's superintendent Kim Jones is thankful that the levy has finally passed.
"A very basic need is for warm, dry buildings. Otherwise, problems develop and that's just unacceptable." said Kim Jones, Trimble's school superintendent.
Repairs to the roof are first priority to the District and will begin soon.
