Manso Nabs MAC Weekly Award
< < Back toRedshirt sophmore Carly Manso of the Ohio women’s soccer team was named the Mid-American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Manso was the Bobcats’ outstanding player on Sept. 5, as she bossed much of the attacking play against Xavier and put Ohio ahead 2-1 in the 64th minute with a curling effort at the top of the box. She also recorded an assist by picking out senior Annie Beard on a corner in the 21st minute that saw the Bobcats take a 1-0 lead.
She was also the main attacking outlet for Ohio on Sept. 7 when the Bobcats played Eastern Kentucky. That day, Manso sealed the game with a scrappy goal in the 77th minute dispatching the ball in to the net after it had been bouncing around in front of goal.
Manso is the first Bobcat to receive the award since Oct. 22, 2012 when Cathryn Rogers won it for a second time that season.
Ohio plays the last game of its three-game home stand against the University of Detroit at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12.
