Afrobeat met Appalachia last night when Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 performed for a packed house at Stuart’s Opera House.
Seun, son of the legendary Nigerian musician/activist Fela Kuti, led his father’s former band through a set that incorporated jazz, funk and blues to create his own unique blend of afrobeat.
Kuti and Egypt 80 are currently touring in support of their latest album, A Long Way to the Beginning, released earlier this year.
